*               A QUICK INTRODUCTION ON LYNX               *
************************************************************

If you type, once you have logged on our Unix system:

         lynx

you will access the first page of "Nova-links Internet
access". You may find interesting to explore this Nova
campus-wide information system.

a) Each document is an Hypertext document, with "hot"
   buttons, highlighted on the screen.

   You can go from button to button, using the up arrow (to
   move to the button above), or the down arrow (to move to
   the button down).

   Once you selected a hot button, you can access the
   document designated by this hot button by using the
   return key or the right arrow.

   You can go back to the document you came from with the
   left arrow.

You can also use the following commands:

     * Key-stroke commands                   *
     * About Lynx                            *
     * Lynx users guide version 2.2          *
     * Help on version 2.2                   *
     * Help on HTML                          *
     * HTML Quick Reference Guide *
     * Help on URL's                         *
     *****************************************

     Selecting: Help on HTML is a good way to start.
                  This is the document I usually give to my
                  students to learn HTML.

d) p - (Type the letter p) will give you the possibility to
       save to a file or download the current file displayed
       on your screen.

e) \\ - (Type one backslash) will display the HTML source
       document that produces what is displayed on your
       screen. If you then use "p", you can even save to a
       file or download the HTML source document, modify it
       if you want and use it for your own HTML application.

f) e - (Type the letter e) will let you edit the
       corresponding document. Therefore, if you type a
       backslash to access the HTML source document, and
       then "e" you will be able to edit the HTML source
       document.

Hope these quick explanations will be sufficient to get you
started!
