Research Statement and Publications:
My current research is focused on three broad themes.
One theme is concerned with perception of risk and ambiguity and its implications for IT investments by firms and perception of online risk in ecommerce settings. I use the psychometric paradigm, literature in the heuristics and biases tradition and notions of ambiguity in decision theory in theorizing. The following papers are representative of work in this theme: (All these papers are accessible either thru the AIS electronic Library or the Nova library.)
Perception of Risk Due to Online Hazards (with I. Gabriel) available for download thru SSRN. Dataset used in the study is Available as a Zipped File .
Uncertainty and Knowledge of Online Hazards (with Ping an Wang) available for download thru SSRN .
Affect and Online Privacy Concerns (with David Castano) available for download thru SSRN .
Spyware - Risk and Ambiguity Attitudes (with Ackerman and Rao) available for download thru SSRN .

A second theme is concerned with the study of electronic environments enabled by the Internet. I use theories and methods where agents are assumed to be rational and use experiments. I draw theory from utility and game theory and the experimental economics tradition. The following papers are representative of work in this theme. A link is provided to one of the papers which is published in Electronic Markets and may be unavailable at Nova library.
Software Quality: Design and Field Study of Prediction Market (with Janaki Krishnamurthy) available for download thru SSRN

A third theme is concerned with strategic and systems problems related to health care industry. Specifically, I am studying the incentive structures in a typical Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) and the technical design of networked systems to enable Health Information Exchange (HIE). I am working on a couple of papers, but they are still work-in-progress and unpublished.
Publications that I have (co) authored over time which do not belong in the above three themes are listed below:
